Hi Guys!It has been an overwhelmingly busy few days.I got in later than expected last night (2:30) and had a migraine that kept tugging me out of slumber.I will share for as long as my eyelids agree to stay open.
My youngest son and I had a strange little experience I'll share before we get to club chaos. On Monday we stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few things. As we left the store a bail bondsmans' van was in a front parking space with a man in the driver seat. (Once when my husband was in jail a guy and I were in the entryway waiting for visiting hours to begin when another guy came and signed in.Before I knew what was happening the first guy pulled out some papers and announced he was a bondsman from some other state and he was here to take in the second guy on some warrant for missing a trial date.Apparently, the second guy wasn't quite ready to go because a fist fight and violent scuffle erupted almost on top of me.The waiting area was very small and it took several minutes for the guards to hear the bondsman's screams for help and get the gates open.It didn't become any more physically comfortable for me when so many men were trying to squeeze into a confined area among punches being thrown and kicks flailing about. That lesson was one that stuck. Now,when I suspect or know of a bails bondsmen being in close proximity I am ready to scrambble for safety.) I had just finished loading our purchases into the trunk and was watching my son go to the buggy return.Parked next to me on my right(facing the trunk) was an suv and next to that was a burgandy Ford Escort(I think that is the model).Something caught my attention and I turned just in time to see a guy start to get out of the Ford then get back in leaving the driver door open.My son had returned to the passenger door at this time and I told him to get in the car.My mind was still trying to register if I saw what I thought I saw.It only took a second for me to realize yes that guy was wearing a bullet proof vest over his t-shirt.(As someone who has been a victim of violence I strongly believe in a citizens right to bear arms and exercise that option by always having a concealed firearm on my person at all times.)The guy in the vest had one foot in mid air and was stepping out of his car again. My mind was racing when I noticed a police officer from a neighboring city on the next asile over.He must have saw the same thing I did because he gunned his engine and whipped his car in behind mine with his door open before his car was at a complete stop.He got out and approached the Ford with his pistol drawn and commanded the guy to put his hands on his head and stay in the seat.I stayed put in my car and tried to remember every detail possible in case there was a shooting and I needed to give an account of what I witnessed. My pistol came out of my waistband and rested beside me on my seat at the ready.I don't know what I would have done but I do not think I could have let that officer get shot and have done nothing.(Despite my problems and experiences with inept and corrupt officers my father is a policeman and he was the one I envisioned in harms way.I feel foolish and reckless looking back at it now but I think the same emotions would override my commonsense if put in the same scenario again.)It took close to 10 minutes for backup to arrive and it seemed an eternity. As the parking lot began to flood with blue lights I finally was able to take a breath and blink. They had the vest guy stretched out over the trunk of his car and was searching both him and it when the person parked in front of me returned to their car and exited which left me a clear escape route that I lost no time taking.
Friday was the last time we talked so I'll pick up on Saturday. It became impossible for Adam and I to work Saturday night so I went to the club alone to confront the girls.(After reading my last post I decided not to wear a suit.Maybe I wanted to shake things up I don't know.I was sporting black capris and a black sheer poet shirt with a black tank underneath and Tommy loafers.)Adam made me promise not to fire anyone on the spot.He was concerned about reactions from them or their boyfriends. We both agreed it was highly unlikely anything negative would happen but Adam is very protective of me and it took me forever to get him to agree to me going alone to handle it.(I am not subservient in any way, shape or form.I value my marriage and we give each others feelings alot of consideration. He doesn't try to control me he just worries about me alot and I try to respect that . )
Friday and Saturday nights are our busiest time of the week and the girls were dressed to a T.Carrie was wearing a black sequined sleeveless top, black spandex shorty shorts, black fishnets, black paltform MaryJane type shoes and she looked just like the girls in movies on Sunset blvd.Summer was also in all black with velvet thigh highs,a lowcut halter and a flaired mini that showed off her stocky yet well defined upper thighs.Beth Ann was quite something herself. Not something I found even remotely attractive but to each his own.She had poured herself into a very thin light lavender nylon cat suit with flaired slit legs. There was a slit down the front to about 4 inches above her navel. Some outfits only look good with fake boobs. Her breasts are a small B and just appeared flat and saggy without any support.I am not going much further because she had on no panties and a mound that ended in a yucky camel hoof (fashion faux pas 101). You guys didn't seem to agree with my fashion analysis because she made the second most money on the books that night.
On to the dressing room and let the interrogations begins. After some cajoling Carrie was honest with me.The rest of the bunch Summer,Beth Ann,and Jo lied(Serena was there too but since she was the original squealer we just talked about other things.)I attributed Summer and Carries calm reactions to valiums they had taken earlier.Beth Ann was all teary and outraged that anybody would think she had a part in any of it.It was all I could do to keep from clapping ,it was an almost flawless performance except for her body language and the outfit definitely was distracting. It is amazing that when we see something we don't like instead of turning away closely we focus on it.I guess it's some morbid fascination like my love of true crime and serial killer autobiographies " This isn't getting us anywhere. I am going to end this but I know you are lying to me.I will tell you just like I told everyone else I will get to the end of this and it will be next week when someone will face the consequences of their actions."that was my last words to Beth Ann. Jo didn't finger anyone but I had doubts about her being as guilty as I first suspected. As I walked out the door that night I reminded everyone, in front of Diana, that any personal visitors were to remain in the entry room and that all girls were to remain in the main area with any conversations to take place through the small greeting window.
I told you before that we record all the girls telephone conversations. We don't keep the tapes and only monitor them when we suspect wrongdoing. The tape from Saturday night was closely reviewed and turned out to be a jackpot. Before I got there that night Summer called her boyfriend.
"Hey are you doing that thing tonight?"
"Yeah, you need somthing?"
"Maybe,i'm not sure yet?"
"Is it for that Beth Ann again?"
"Yeah"
"She ain't sure yet?"
"She's sure. She just has to get her money together."
"Okay,let me know. "
"It should be in just a little while."
That told me most of what I needed to know but it got even better.Immediately after I had spoken to Summer in private she made another call(Just like on the detective shows ,you confront them with something usettling and they rush to share it with an accomplice.)The short version is she gave him a basic run down of our conversation. He assured her that we didn't know anything and were bluffing. She told him the calls were being recorded and she didn't want to discuss it anymore. After a few seconds pause he said he didn't belive it and hung up on her.(We love Pulp Fiction and Adam made a joke about I don't know you.If you are a fan you get it.If not do yourself a favor and watch the movie.)She called him back and he asked if Beth Ann still wanted it.She was shocked and told him Beth Ann had come up to her after our talk and asked if she would still get it for her.Summer refused and Beth Ann offered that she could go to the bathroom and use her cell phone to make the call.(The girls are not allowed to have cell phones turned on inside the building.A few years ago we had a problem with drug deals being set up via cell phones.)The boyfriend tried to convince Summer to do it anyway but she said no and that he was going to get her in even more trouble and she needed her job.
I was absolutely furious!Ambrosia is closed Sunday and we had an entire day to think things over.We were both of the opinion that she is being influenced by the boyfriend and would not do this on her own.
It has been a trying year for Summer. She has pending charges for solicitation, posession and driving under suspension. The police were hard on her about the soliciting charge and wanted her speak out against us.There was an armed robbery a number of months ago at the club that was very emotionally traumatic and violating that she endured. The relationship before this current one ended with her taking responsibility for her boyfriends drug paraphernalia. He signed statements against her,did not help bail her out and cleaned out the apartment before she got out.Her current (crackhead) landlord inherited her apartment when her father died. She has not kept up the mortgage and Summer has until the end of next week to be out due to the bank forclosure. She has consistently showed up for work but we are in our slow season and she has been making no money.(Our clients seem to have some intuition about when someone really needs money and they just don't oblige.I watch the girl smile and make eye contact but there is just something you guys pickup on that I can't see. Some subtley that you avoid like the clap.)Summer has been with us about 5 years with virtually no problems until now.Could I really dismiss her that easy?
Sorry boys, the peepers have had enough. My curtains are closing for the night. This has been drawn out long enough and unless I die in my sleep I will put this story to an end tomorrow.
