I am rather upset tonight and don't have much to say. There is a small problem with three girls and drugs that I have to deal with tomorrow. We are a little short staffed as it is but at least one must go.I need to take some time to think this out and come up with my game plan before tomorrow.Confrontation is never pleasant and even worse with liars. They eventually end up turning on each others and just crying and begging in the end.Can you tell, i've done this before? If I have time and am up to it i'll give you the blow by blow(and blow at my club is the problem .) tomorrow. One of the girls in question has to be out of her apartment in a few days and has no money( I guess we all know why.Stupid bitch should have stuck to just blowin clients that's something we could all join in on.).I'll try to remember all the ridiclious excuses for you.Maybe one of them will come up with something original to entertain us.
I got a very nice comment this morning that inspired me to share this little experience with you.I got a letter from the IRS.I called and spoke with a pleasant guy that told me the notice was a mistake but that while searching my accounts he had found a $250 credit in a quaterly payroll (941) fund.He explained I had the option of a refund or applying it to a balance I make regular payments on.I wanted to overage applied to what I owed. That was the quickest easiest call I had ever made to them.
About 2 months later I get a message at the club that I must call them within 24 hours an they leave a reference number.Panic takes over and I just can't figure out what could sound so urgent.About an hour later, when my nerves have calmed some I return their call. After 20 minutes of holding and giving my reference # to 3 different people I get someone who can help me.Finally I find out that all this is hoopla is about $320 I owe on a back 941 account.10 minutes later and she has the specifics for me.A big sigh of relief escapes me when she gives me the same quarter I had a credit in 2 months prior.Of course, they have just made another mistake no problem right?WRONG Another 13 minutes on hold and she is back and ready to enlighten me.The $250 credit was in fact not a credit at all but the payoff amount that the computer had credited but not yet deducted from the account.okay?"So you people made a mistake in telling me it was a credit and diverting it elsewhere. What needs to happen now to correct it?" I ask. She explains I must now repay the $320 to avoid liens and my business account possibly being levied.Stop, rewind! In as calm of a voice as I can muster "Mam,I was only credited $250 how can it be $320 that is needed to pay off that account. It would be an IRS employee that made the mistake not me.""We only did what you told us to do.Did you not instruct him to redirect the funds into another account?"she asked."Yes,based on incorrect information from yall I did"I said. After a few more times of this I was smiling and stifling a laugh.(This is one of those times it may seem exasperating to some but humorous to me.)With a smirk on my face I ended the conversation and chalked it up to a pick your battles carefully time.Almost an hour of my day was wasted.I have no doubt I could pursue the matter and get back the additional $70.It just isn't worth the hassell and stress of another hour of waiting, transferring and playing word games. If you are wondering I have a still have a smile on my face thinking about it and have moved on to shaking my head as well. When my day of reckoning comes and I think back to what I would give for just one more hour I will confidently remember that I gave myself an hour and it only cost me $70..
I am out of here before I pull out my soapbox.Hope to share with you in a day or two.
Cammi -- I understand that you try to help some of these girls, but always remember that you are running a business. Don't feel bad when you have to let one of them go because of something she chose to do. They would not feel bad if you lost your business that you work so hard to maintain. It is difficult, but why is it so hard to find good people to work for you with the same work ethic?
As far as the IRS thing I think you were right in just letting it go. At first you let them know they were wrong but if you pushed them too much they may get pissed and find a reason to audit your business. And nobody wants that especially for $70. I would gladly pay you double that for one session with you.
Talk to ya soon
